Mother Killed in Rollover Crash in Southern Arizona as Two Children Escape

An accident on State Route 79 resulted in the death of a mother in her 20s from southern Arizona. According to azcentral.com, the mother was driving along with her two children in the car when she failed to negotiate a curve. The accident occurred near Oracle on State Route 79. The vehicle rolled over following which the mother was ejected from the car. The two children aged 18 months and 2 years, escaped with minor injured and were treated at a local hospital in Tucson.

According to DPS Sgt. Investigations into the accident continue although initial reports suggest that speed and distracted driving could have attributed to the crash.

And she was not wearing a seat belt! How many times does society have to tell people to do that!?

Mesa Woman Faces Charges in Hit-and-Run Accident

29 year old Alyssa Monique Malone of Mesa faces charges in connection with a hit and run accident that left an 8 year old boy injured in Tempe. Zion Patterson was on a skateboard when Malone’s car struck him on a neighborhood street where there was no designated crosswalk. Video surveillance from a city bus showed that Malone stopped her vehicle for a moment but chose to drive away. The footage indicates that boy got back on his feet but no one from vehicle came to his rescue, as reported by ABC15.

Police reports indicate that the boy had just disembarked a city bus on Hayden Lane near Kenwood Circle when the accident took place. Malone was arrested and charged with failure to stop and render aid following an accident. Bail was set at $3,600.

Wow! Malone could have possibly been OK if she stopped; there was not any designated crosswalk. Not smart Malone!
