The University of Northern New Jersey had a Facebook Page, a website
detailing courses, and tuition costs of $12,620. In addition, the university
also announced its expansion plans into Hoboken, Morristown, and Harrison. The
website and the courses appeared so real that no one was able to guess that it
was a fake site created by the Feds to investigate immigration scams.
The college neither had any professors nor held classes. The site was
actually a trap laid by federal investigators to target those who committed visa fraud. Within a matter of days
the investigators apprehended 21 people who were chiefly brokers according to wtvr.com. This is not ideal behavior
immigration lawyers profess.
These brokers were soliciting with the university administrators to help
1,000 Asian students from China and India keep their student visas by creating
false transcripts and documents. These students had entered country
legitimately under a valid student visa and were enrolled under different
universities. What the brokers did not realize is that the administrators were
undercover Feds actually doing something good for the country unlike the IRS for
much of the time and the EPA.
The brokers were also trying to create false contracts between the
university and the students showing that they were employed by the college to
obtain work visas. The Feds have not arrested the students but their visas will
be terminated. Currently, there are 1.2 million legal students in the US
according to a report by the Department of Homeland Security. Most come from
Asia and are enrolled in master’s and bachelor programs.
According to immigration attorneys, those who aspire to study here must
first procure enrollment in a college that is certified by the immigration
agency and only then they can apply for a visa. They have a right to stay in
the US as long as they take the course classes and pass the exams.
Sarah Saldana, director of Immigration and Custom’s Enforcement, said
that those who are charged and arrested have committed an egregious crime
against the country’s immigration system. She further added that even though
the US has always welcome international students those who seek to exploit the
immigration system will not be spared.
The Feds set up a fake website for good reason. This website (Immigration.USAttorneys) was set up for good
reason too and no worries, it is real and alive. It helps anyone find the legal
help they need in America. This is not Cuba, Americans have rights. But enemies
of America and people who do things to undermine America’s sovereignty and who
take advantage of America’s kindness, can still be held accountable.
1,100 Suspects Busted by
Immigration in Gang Sweep
A nationwide operation targeting international gangs was conducted by
immigration agents recently. They rounded up more than 1,000 suspects on
charges of witness tampering and attempted murder. Reports by reuters.com suggest that during the raids
the officials seized 150 fire arms, huge cache of narcotics, and $70,000 hard
cash.
ICE or the US immigration and Custom’s Enforcement spearheaded the
operation targeting criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking,
racketeering, and murder. The operation was called Project Shadowfire.
Reports from ICE indicate that 1,133 were arrested. 915 of those arrested
were gang members and associates who were involved in illegal cross-border
activities. Charges of criminal offenses were brought against 1,000 of those
arrested but the rest were slapped with immigration violations.
The majority of these criminals had links with notorious gangs such as Sureños, Norteños, MS-13,
and prison gangs. The bust covered various states and cities of the US like Los
Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, El Paso, Texas, and San Jose.
