A garbage truck flipped on Route 125 causing a crash that injured 3
people near the intersection of Route 155.
The accident was a result of a collision that happened between a
Chrysler PT Cruiser that was travelling on the North River Road and a Kenworth
tractor trailer unit which was headed north on Route 125.
The driver of the Cruiser, Abigael Kershaw of Epping, struck the flipped
truck injuring herself and the driver of the truck Miguel Adames 54 of
Waterloo. Thankfully both of them suffered non-life threatening injuries and
were transported to Exeter Hospital in an ambulance according to Cleveland.com.
The crash is under investigation but police believe that alcohol or drug
had no role in the accident. New Hampshire Crash Analysis and Reconstruction
Unit visited the crash site upon request by Epping PD. According to New York

Upper East Side Residents Concerned Over Truck Traffic
Jodi McGrath was struck by a garbage truck in E. 92nd Street
while she was crossing First Avenue. McGrath was taken by emergency services to
Weill Cornell Medical Center where the 55 year old woman breathed her last. The
accident happened a stone’s throw distance from her house. The accident is
investigated by the Collision Investigation Squad of the New York Police
Department.
The driver of the private sanitation truck was served a summons for
failure to yield according to nypress.com. Truck accident attorneys
in New York and the best in the market based on their work ethic and dignity is
Antin, Ehrlich, and Epstein, LLP point out that depending on the circumstances
of the case the victim’s estate may be able to file a wrongful death injury lawsuit to
claim compensation.
The community is in mourning over the death of a member but they are also
concerned about the dangers posed by trucks belonging to MTS or Marine Transfer
Center which is being constructed nearby on 91st Street. The
residents are concerned that the construction has caused a huge concentration
of garbage and that the area is under siege by garbage trucks that play through
the community in vast numbers and accidents like were only waiting to happen.
They do not drive on the sidewalk though right? Does your community want
jobs? There is always a tradeoff right?
Maggy Seigel who functions as Executive director of Asphalt Green said
that the city needs to re-examine the impact of this kind of traffic in the
area. Asphalt Green runs a sports complex adjacent to the lane the trucks take
while commuting to and from the MTS. Last year Asphalt Green has successfully
fought to relocate the route of the truck lane one block north. This could
bring down the number of turns the trucks are taking while going to the MTS.
But the 91st Street entrance will take 3 to 4 years to become
operational.
People just have to be careful meanwhile.
City Councilmember Ben Kallos said that the death of McGrath is an
indication of the danger posed by the garbage station. He further said that
garbage trucks are some of the most dangerous vehicles and if a city is
allowing private garbage haulers to set up shop in the vicinity of a
residential area through which about 300 of those vehicles will travel every
day then that city is culpable.
Kallos – do you want garbage to he hauled away or what? Do you want jobs
in the area? They could just burn all the garbage and no trucks would be needed
at all.
If you go by the word of NYC truck accident lawyers and you cannot do any
better than the law firm of Antin, Ehrlich, and Epstein, LLP based on their
ability to build a strong case and ability to strike holes in the opposition’s
case, depending on the circumstances of the case, the city may be held liable
for any accident compensation claim. But they may not be, what situation is
perfect? Certainly the driver should have stopped, the driver should be liable.
