A couple that had notoriously earned themselves
the name “Bonnie and Clyde” of Missouri were involved in a shootout with
Florida state cops last week which finally brought the man hunt (couple hunt
really) to an end. According to NY Daily News, Blake Fitzgerald did not
really care for chivalry when he used his girlfriend, Brittany Nicole Harper,
as a human shield to protect himself from the shots being fired by Florida
State law enforcement officers.
He must have watched the movie New Jack
City too many times as Nino Brown (Wesley Snipes) did the same thing but he
held up a small girl to take any bullets for him when he was shot at by drive
by shooters on motorcycles. At least Harper was not an innocent person nor a
child when she was being used as a human shield.
Despite cowardly hiding behind his own
girlfriend, Blake Fitzgerald was still caught by a few rounds and succumbed to
his gun wounds on scene. On the other hand, Brittany Nicole Harper was also
wounded but survived and is in custody currently. Criminal defense lawyers,
media, and investigative officers, the couple probably was highly influenced
with the infamous couple Bonnie and Clyde and chose to try to get rich quickly
rather than work for it the honest way.

Couple
was wanted for robberies and kidnappings among other crimes
The law violating couple had been on the
wanted list of several states. They were involved
in multiple robberies and kidnappings. They have committed crimes in
Missouri, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. Prior to the shootout, the couple had
led Florida State law enforcement officers on a dangerous high speed car
pursuit.
According to police reports and some
criminal defense attorneys closely following the case, the couple was reported
by emergency callers saying that a footwear store in Pensacola was being robbed
at around 8 pm. According to witnesses, Blake held a gun to the clerk on duty
while his girlfriend helped herself to some shoes. Florida law enforcement
officers were quick to respond and stopped the couple and trailed them on a
high speed car chase.
The couple proved to be difficult to
keep up with as the cops temporarily lost sight of them. Within this brief
period, the couple held a Pensacola family hostage and stole their pick-up
truck. The red pick-up was once again spotted just past midnight by cops who
were on the lookout and the chase continued.
Finally, Fitzgerald got out of the car
and was making his way into another family house on foot when police opened
fire. This is when he held his own girlfriend in front of him as a shield but
was still struck and killed. Good riddance. He is going to some place he really
does not want to go to now. It will be very hot there as well.
Dad
and son to be sentenced for vending machine fraud
A father and son have been found guilty
of a fraud which criminal defense lawyers estimate to be worth $11 million. The
pair ran a vending machine business and was found to be guilty of cheating
investors out of their money, as reported by NY Daily News. This is the opposite of
Bernard Madoff since his son did not know about the scheme and even ended his
life because of it.
The father has been identified as
Kenneth Levin and his son as Taylor Levin. They are said to have swindled over
a staggering 1,300 investors by making false promises about excellent returns.
The official charges against the two men, say criminal defense lawyers, are
conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud.
Their sentencing has not been concluded
yet but legal experts tell us that the maximum time for each count can be as
many as 20 years.
If you face charges for any type of criminal
offense including DUI or have been wrongly accused of a crime, a
criminal defense lawyer is your best bet to fight for your rights and protect
you against injustice or mistreatment.
