Spate of Accidents on Ohio’s Highways and Railroads

Train Runs Over Woman in Butler County

(Montgomery, OH) – April 1st, 2016 – The incident happened in Hamilton 30 miles north of Cincinnati. Police sergeant Brian Robinson revealed that the accident took place close to Fifth and the Butler Streets. The woman, whose identity has not been released by the police, saw a southbound train pass through the intersection, ignored the guard and walked right onto the train tracks. She was run over by a northbound train. Robinson said that it is a case of simply being impatient.

Or was it suicide?

A two-mile stretch of the track was closed for two hours as investigators tried to determine what went wrong at the scene of the accident. The area where the accident happened is a problem zone according to law enforcement. A man was similarly killed just 300 yards from the latest tragedy just three weeks ago. How do you not see a train?

Cleveland.com says that last year 17 people died in railroad accidents in Butler County alone. According to Montgomery, OH accident lawyers, in some cases, railroads can be held liable for injuries even for the slightest negligence but when there is not any negligence, it is the other party’s fault.

Caught on Video Car Plummeting into Ohio River from Combs-Hehl Bridge

Cincinnati Police Department released an exclusive video of a fatal accident via Local 12 News. In the video a car is seen skidding off Combs-Hehl Bridge into the Ohio River below.

The camera which captured the harrowing moments was mounted on a pier facing the bridge according to local12.com. The camera caught the moment with fabulous clarity when the car took a deadly plunge into the river after flying off the bridge. The car was a red Pontiac Grand Prix and the police have a fair idea who was behind its wheel but they refused to make the name public.

They said the name will be released only after they are able to retrieve the car from the river. Campbell County Police said that rescue efforts were initiated by Boone County Water Rescue Team to pull out the vehicle and its occupants. Ohio accident attorneys say that only an investigation can reveal if anyone can be held liable in this type of an accident.
