Tax fraud that is now prevalent
throughout the nation have also affected several University of Delaware tax
payers. There has been an enormous surge in tax fraud in the past couple months
where fraudsters have used stolen information from their victims such as their
addresses, full names, and social security numbers to file frivolous tax
returns in the names of their victims, as reported by udel.deu.
The Internal Revenue System is fully
occupied trying to deal with such false filings and have already taken a number
of measures to curb the practice, but the scam is just too large scale to die
down all the way say tax lawyers.
The only way people can stay safe is by
protecting themselves and ensuring that they do not give away any of their
personal information over the telephone or the Internet.
Many of these scammers and dishonorable
people call and pretend to be authorities from the Internal Revenue System and
try to extract personal information from you or they use phishing scams where
they employ emails or websites to coax unsuspecting victims to enter their
personal information and then have you sent it to them.
Tax lawyers confirm that Internal
Revenue System (IRS) officials would never need any of your information from
you as they will already have that information on file. So at no point will you
be required to disclose this information. It is too bad the IRS though does not
believe in a flat tax which would make life so much easier on so many people.
America has the most complicated tax system in the world, no one can really
understand it.
These scams have been occurring all over
the country every day and now the epidemic has hit University of Delaware employees
and students too. They aren’t by any means the only target victims of these
scammers though. Many incidents have also been reported in other universities
and by employees of hospitals, medical centers, and large and small scale
private businesses.
There is not enough jobs in this country
because of the ACA, other regulations, and high taxes so this is what many
people are resorting to make ends meat. Tax attorneys cannot warn us enough
about this!

Fraud Conspiracy Charges Filed against 34 Persons in Battle Creek
The US department of Justice has
announced that charges have been filed against as many as 30 Battle Creek
residents in a tax fraud conspiracy that was unraveled in Battle Creek, as
reported by freep.com.
The 30 plus defendants in the case have
allegedly filed close to five thousand fraudulent tax return forms using
personal information of patients and employees at the Battle Creek Veterans
Affairs Medical Center and from convicts who are in Michigan prisons. Well, at
least the VA is not in the news for killing veterans this time and for their executives
stealing money from tax payers via underserved bonuses.
According to tax lawyers, if convicted,
each defendant could be imprisoned for up to ten years and may also be slapped
with a fine of $250,000 each. They did this for the years from 2007 to 2014.
The ring leader of the scam has been
identified as 52 year old Derrick J. Gibson. Besides this, he is a wonderful
person. He should go to the same prison that has the convicts that he stole information
from.
