As reported by nola.com, the allegations in the case were
very disturbing and they basically insinuated that the suspect in question was
guilty of sexually taking advantage of a mentally challenged female relative in
his family. However, a court in New Orleans has acquitted the suspect in the
case based on the premise that there was insufficient evidence linking him to
the crime. The judge even stated that he was not even close to being convinced
of the man’s guilt in the case.
The man has been identified as 54 year
old Christobol Madrid. His criminal defense lawyers did a fine job in pointing
out the woman’s erratic past and her flawed memory. They essentially sent a
message to the judge that the woman had a history of making up false stories. This
is like the Duke lacrosse case and probably like the Mike Tyson Indiana case as
well. It is also like the Kobe Bryant situation as well. This is a common occurrence.
If you need a criminal defense lawyer
then this means your life has taken a turn for the worse. But it does not mean
it is over and it does not mean you should begin to panic. Decades ago, finding
the right legal help was arduous and frustrating, that is not the case anymore.
The Internet has made life much easier in many ways and because of the
creativity and honorable spirit of a few people, lives are being saved. Go

23
year old accuser changed her story one too many times
Had Madrid been convicted instead of
acquitted in the case, he could have been put behind bars for as long as ten
years. Madrid only speaks Spanish and so a translator translated his statements
post the decision of the New Orleans judge where he said that he was grateful
to God or the outcome of the case and he had been praying for this to happen
all along.
Madrid’s accuser is a 23 year old
relative of his, whose identity has been withheld for privacy concerns, and it
turns out that both Madrid and his accuser are undocumented illegal immigrants
from El Salvador. Madrid has now been living in the United States for over 20
years and one of those years were spent behind bars after he was arrested when
these allegations surfaced against him and he was only released when a judge
instructed that he bet set free without any bond.
In the trial, the accuser was strong
headed and confidently testified that she was raped by Madrid in the bed that
the two share together. However, the court also noted that her statements that
she made to nurses and other persons were contrary to her testimony.
She had told nurses that the encounter
never happened or may be only happened in her dream, so she wasn’t sure.
Furthermore, she also alleged that she and Madrid had been drinking before the
alleged incident occurred. However, toxicology reports did not show any sign on
alcohol or drugs in her system the very next morning.
According to Madrid’s criminal defense
attorneys, the woman had told many different stories about the incident in
umpteen different ways and none of them seemed credible.
Why even have a trial then?
Man
from Kailua-Kona held for Sex Crimes against Minors
Hawaiitribune-herald.com reports that 43
year old Michael Phillip Patrakis has been taken into custody after being
deemed a flight risk considering he faces 27 counts of producing child
pornography and one count of sex trafficking of a minor. He was arrested by the
Hawaii Police Department on Sept. 17th last year when a former
roommate informed the police that he has seen Patrakis with images of child
abuse and other pornographic material possibly of the girls residing at his
home. Strange. The videos were from his home security system.
