Tanker Crash Forces Hazmat Crews into Operation
(Montgomery, OH) –
March 28th, 2016 – A car
plowed into a stopped tow-truck on I-75 injuring both drivers. The crash led to a traffic pile up and delays
along the interstate. The accident happened around 4:15 am when a tow truck just
sitting on southbound I-75 was hit by a car. Officers are not quite certain why
the truck was basically parked at that particular point on the highway.
The impact was so powerful that the truck moved about 50 feet from its
location. The female driver who crashed her car was able to get out from
wrecked vehicle without help and was able to converse with the officers at the
scene of the accident.
As a result of the accident the ramp remained closed causing delays to
motorists travelling on that route. Whio.com reports that both the
drivers were taken to local hospitals. According to truck accident lawyers in
Montgomery OH, dashcam recordings can play a vital role in establishing what
happened in addition to issues of liability in case of a truck accident claim.

Belmont County Tanker Crash Injures Driver
Hazmat crews responded to an early morning tanker accident that injured the
driver. The
crash happened on state Route 800 near Barnesville at around 3 am. The tanker
was travelling north when it lost control around a bend and flipped. The driver
was taken out of the wreckage with extensive wounds and was transported to
Pittsburg Medical Center. According to Bob Smith, Barnesville’s fire chief,
considering the damage to the tanker, the driver was lucky to get out of the
vehicle.
Wtov9.com reported that the driver
was hauling waste water and brine from fracking sites. Some of the brine
escaped into the reservoir nearby through a stream which lies close to Route
800. The reservoir was closed down by Hazmat crews who initiated cleaning
operations. Since the reservoir does not supply water to nearby areas the
authorities believe that the accident will not impact anyone. As per Ohio truck
accident attorneys, fracking sites are helping America become energy sufficient
much do the chagrin of OPEC but truck drivers have to be careful since they are
hauling heavy loads and sometimes even combustible material.
Russell Township Police Department Investigate Series of Public Property
damages Caused by Errant Trucks
A garbage truck landed on its side after skidding off the road and over
an embankment near Alexander Drive at 4:15 am on March 10th. Fire
fighters and road crews arrived at the scene to find that no one has been
injured but gas lines were damaged as the truck landed on the pipes. To avoid
further mishaps the gas company had to cut off the supply until the truck was
hauled away by three tow cars. The Geauga Road Department was called to inspect
the berm damage.
A similar incident of property damage was also reported by an officer on
patrol in Braeburn Road. The officer noticed extensive damage to the metal
street sign on the road and to the berm. The damages were caused by a similar
truck which skidded off the road and landed on the berm hitting the metal sign
board in the process.
Cleveland.com reported that on March 9th
officers responded to a scene of an accident where a waste management truck had
pulled down telephone, cable, and electric wires. The driver was unhurt but
repair crews were sent forthwith to mend the damage.
