Father Arrested for Driving Drunk with Kids in the Car

An individual from Roswell was arrested when he crashed his car through a fence in an intoxicated state with his kids in the back seat. Several eye witnesses reported the crash that happened on Houze Way. When emergency responders reached the scene they found an overrun fence, an uprooted fire hydrant, and some battered bushes caused by the vehicle driven by Joel Kurtz.

Officer Lisa Holland from Roswell PD said that the officer at the scene found Kurtz swaying and unsteady and this made the officer suspect alcohol impairment. These are telltale signs that law enforcement look for when they pull over a DUI suspect say expert Roswell, GA DUI lawyers. Kurtz also admitted that before he got into his vehicle he had a few drinks.

Holland said that the officer found two of Kurtz’s children strapped at the back seat of his vehicle. They had reports of injuries so the emergency responders medically evaluated the kids thoroughly before handing them over to their mother. Kurtz was arrested and slapped with two counts of child endangerment in addition to a DUI charge. Officer Holland said that when a person is drunk he can utilize so many options to ensure the safety of his kids if they are with him. The individual could call a cab or ask a friend or a neighbor to pick the kids up, which DUI attorneys in Georgia agree with.

According to reports by wsbtv.com the woman who suffered property damage hopes that Kurtz will pay for shattered fences and battered shrubs. Kurtz is going to pay for much more than that. The home owner needs a DUI lawer from Roswell – the sooner the better.

Kurtz is not going to win any father of the year trophies. Kurtz probably will not have the rights to see his children either for a long time, perhaps ever.
