A Penn State Ph.D. student and employee
lost his life tragically in an auto accident on State College premises earlier
this year, as reported by collegian.psu.edu. The deceased was
identified as Josef Blunschi who not only was pursuing his Ph.D. at the
university, but also doubled as a part time employee for the university. Pennsylvania
accident lawyers were saddened by this case.
Pennsylvania accident lawyers know that anyone walking the street needs to be alert for car drivers. It is very sad what happened to Josef Blunschi. |
According to police reports of how the
accident transpired, Blunschi was crossing an intersection on foot when he was
hit by a car which was travelling in a westerly direction. The car accident is
said to have occurred at the intersection of East Park Avenue and McKee Street
and the car was headed in the direction of Atherton Street.
State law enforcement officers responded
to the emergency as quickly as they could only to find the 66 year old hurt
seriously. Responding emergency medical technicians then rushed Blunschi to
Mount Nittany Medical Center by Centre Link EMS where he was pronounced dead
only a short while after being brought in.
People who worked with Blunschi at Penn
State only had remarkable things to say about the 66 year old who hails from
Switzerland, but had lived in the United States for a few decades now. He was a
returning student who was pursuing his Ph.D. in energy and mineral engineering
and one of his advisers made a statement that receiving his Ph.D. was Blunschi’
lifelong dream.
