46 year old Michelle Yvonne Hart of
Arroyo Grande is likely to face a lengthy prison term after she pleaded no contest
to second degree murder for causing a fatal drunk driving accident and fleeing
the scene. As reported by sanluisobispo.com, the charges and subsequent plea
stems from a 2014 hit and run accident that caused the death of 48 year old
bicyclist Glen Harley Fulton.
According to San Luis Obispo, CA DUI
lawyers, she could potentially face up to 19 year to life in prison. Her
sentencing has been set for June 29th.
As per the San Luis Obispo County
District Attorney’s Office, Hart has a history of DUI arrests. Following the
accident involving bicyclist Fulton, she faced felony charges for gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI resulting in serious
bodily injury, and fleeing the scene of an accident. She was also
charged with driving on a suspended license. At the time of the fatal accident
she was wearing an ankle monitor from a previous DUI arrest.
The accident occurred on October 1st,
2014 on Los Berros Road near Nipomo where Hart, who was in a Honda Accord,
struck Fulton who was riding a bicycle. The impact sent the victim onto the
west shoulder of the road due to which he sustained severe head injuries and
was killed instantly despite wearing a helmet. Hart attempted to flee the scene
of the accident but the police were able to arrest soon after with the help of
eyewitnesses.

68 year old Ralph Cook, a former Merced
County Commissioner, was killed in a DUI accident on Highway 99 near Merced. San

driving at the time. She hit a guard rail on the right shoulder which then went

the bar’s parking lot. Another man is said to have appeared and knocked Cook to
the ground with a punch. However, police are still reviewing video footage to
identify suspects. The former county commissioner was rushed to a Modesto hospital
following the assault and was later released.
Responding officers claim that Calixtro
showed signs of intoxication following the crash and also failed a field
sobriety test. She has been charged with felony DUI and gross vehicular
manslaughter. No one, not even some mysterious person, will be able to help her
deal with that. Jacqulin Calixtro will be in prison for a long time.
