(Tooele
County, UT) – June 20th, 2016 – A motorcycle rider is now in
hospital after being struck by a woman in a car who attempted to make a last
minute improper u-turn, as reported by good4utah.com. Law enforcement officers who
responded to the emergency confirm that the rider was not wearing a helmet.
Even though the car driver may have been
at fault for causing the auto accident, car accident lawyers in Salt Lake City,
UT reiterate that by not wearing a helmet, the motorcycle rider unnecessarily
assumes partial liability in the case, which can affect their compensation
in an accident claim.
The accident occurred at the
intersection of 500 South and 500 West in Salt Lake City, Utah.
According to eye witness accounts, both
the car and the motorcycle were headed south at the intersection in different
lanes. All of a sudden the car driver decided to make a u-turn, failed to see
the motorcyclist and drove right into his path. The rider was rushed to
hospital with head injuries. Law enforcement officers say that such car accidents
can be attributed to motorists not paying attention while on the road.

Escape with Minor Injuries in I-15 Rollover Auto Crash in Salt Lake City
Dashcam footage obtained from a driver
driving behind the cars that clipped each other shows how one vehicle rolled over
after being clipped on Interstate-15 in Salt Lake City just before this
weekend, according to Fox Now.
The cars involved in the accident were a
Toyota Tacoma and a PT Cruiser. Preliminary investigations suggest that a
vehicle in front of the PT cruiser made an erratic change of lanes which
triggered a chain reaction. The PT cruiser swerved suddenly and was struck by
the Tacoma which then caused the cruiser to rollover and skid to a halt.
The auto crash occurred on Interstate 15
in the southerly lanes. The truck driver was hospitalized with minor to
moderate injuries. He will be looking for an auto accident lawyer in Salt Lake
City, UT very soon. He should not sign any paperwork with anyone until he has
legal assistance by his side advising him.
The car accident according to eye
witnesses was caused mostly by the driver of a black truck which tried a risky lane
change maneuver into the lane that the truck was already occupying. The black
truck driver left the scene and the authorities are still trying to identify
this motorist.
No charges have been filed yet in the
case, but it seems likely that once identified, the driver of the black truck
will be charged in connection to the accident, in the opinion of Utah accident
attorneys.

are complicated and vary from one state to the other. Utah is a no-fault
insurance state where people injured in an auto accident must turn to their own
insurance coverage via a first party claim. The laws limit the situations in

of car accidents can go beyond the no-fault rules and seek
compensation from other at-fault parties through a liability claim or lawsuit.
