Youth Icon gets Probation
(Broward County, FL) – April 4th,
2016 – In a 2015 hit and run case former youth Icon David Cassidy has agreed to
surrender his license and spend 2 years on probation after pleading no contest
to a reckless driving charge. His charges include property damage, fleeing the
scene of the accident, reckless driving, and driving a vehicle with a revoked
license.
For these charges, Cassidy initially
faced less than a year in jail for each count, which is in accordance with
current laws and Broward County, FL drunk driving accident lawyers have had
cases like this many times. In such types of cases, the victim, if any, also
has the right to claim compensation from the drunk driver’s insurer.
The incident happened on September 9th
last year when Cassidy sideswiped a truck and began weaving through the traffic
on I-595. The drunk driving accident attorney representing Cassidy said that he
was given permission to leave Florida and he can be in touch with his probation
officer via email according to reports by sun-sentinel.com.
Sun-sentinel revealed that Cassidy
attempted to use double jeopardy to dismiss some of his charges. However, he
was prevented from doing so because Judge Mindy Brown of Broward County offered
probation in lieu of his double jeopardy claim.
This was not Cassidy’s first DUI. He was
arrested
for DUI several times before in New York, California, and Florida. He
is a serial DUI offender! Does he think he is cute or is he just a fool?
Perhaps he likes being in the court room. He needs to do some jail time.
In fact he was in the middle of a 5 year
probation from an earlier conviction before his latest transgression in Fort
Lauderdale, which could have an impact on any future DUI charges in the opinion
of Broward County, FL drunk driving accident lawyers.
Cassidy could not be traced as soon as
the accident happened. He was found an hour later when he did not appear
intoxicated. His lawyer said that Cassidy had made a business decision to move
on with his career and life by resolving his misdemeanor offenses. Cassidy was
a heartthrob during the 70s for appearing in the TV series ‘The Partridge
Family’ and for delivering the hit song ‘I think I love you’. He is not so
impressive anymore.
Last year he divorced his wife Susan
during which he also filed for bankruptcy.
He was forced to place his beach front five bedroom villa on auction, which was
bought by an oncologist for $2 million. If Cassidy violates probation then he
will end up in jail for two years, 4 months and drunk driving accident
attorneys in Florida hope he cleans up his act.

Passenger Suffers Brain Damage in an Accident
Dr. Richard Day and his wife suffered
injuries when the cab they hired from Uber crashed shortly after leaving the

to attend a Medical Conference in December. Miamiherald.com reported that since the
driver had been cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic, the couple had
filed a lawsuit against Uber.

several surgeries. Her skull remains encased in a helmet to protect it and
another surgery is scheduled in a few weeks.
Uber and its competitor, Lyft, face
several similar lawsuits for crashes. Uber was sued in a wrongful death lawsuit
