Former LAPD Officer Files Sexual Harassment Lawsuit against Singer Elton John

A captain of Los Angeles Police Department, Jeffrey Wenninger, who was a part of Elton John’s security detail, has alleged that singe groped him on several occasions and made sexually suggestive gestures frequently during his tenure of employment. The allegations were categorically denied by the singer.

But everyone knows Elton John is gay so this is not out of the question.

The lawsuit filed by the officer and his sexual harassment lawyer claimed that in 2014 the singer made several unwelcome gestures towards the plaintiff. The celebrated singer however claimed that the lawsuit was plainly motivated by money and nothing else.

Orin Snyder who represents Sir John’s entertainment company known as Rocket Entertainment Group said that the officer is just a disgruntled employee trying to extort money. He also said that the plaintiff himself on earlier occasions made contradictory statements about his claims. The lawyer also said that the lawsuit is nothing but an abuse of the legal system and they will fight the allegations.

Wenninger who served with Elton John’s security team from 2002 said that unwelcome touching happened frequently throughout the period of his service but it escalated from 2010 onwards. According to theguardian.com the officer in a statement said that he never gave consent to this type of behavior. So he tolerated this for 8 years? Wow!

Wenninger who was a decorated officer of the LAPD was fired from the security team when he reported another officer for overtime theft. So he was fired for doing something honorable?

Former San Diego Mayor’s Civil Case Ends with No Award

A city parks employee Stacy McKenzie sued former San Diego Mayor Bob Filner for harassing her sexually. She claimed that he had touched her buttocks and breasts during an event. Dan Gilleon who represented her said that she felt physically threatened at an event on April 21st, 2013 when the mayor abused her sexually. He also asserted that this fear lingered in her for a long time, thereby interfering with her job performance.

However, the San Diego jury said that the abuse perpetrated on her was gender-driven but there was no sexual battery. The panel after two hours of deliberation said that harassment was not pervasive or serious enough to warrant an award.

Filner’s sexual harassment lawyers said that McKenzie failed to convince the jury that she had suffered ongoing harm as an aftermath of the encounter with the mayor. She labeled the mayor as creepy and stupid when she discussed the incident of workplace harassment with her co-workers but did not appear traumatized by the event according to sandiegouniontribune.com.

Filner was not present in the courtroom when the verdict was read. The 73 year old mayor had resigned from office when he faced a series of sexual harassment allegations. Several misdemeanor and felony charges were initiated against him. City Attorney Jan Goldsmith said that Filner had settled 5 to 7 cases paying a total of $1 million to those who had evidence of his misdeeds.
That is not good business Filner!

Deputy City Attorney George Schaefer who spearheaded the defense team said that McKenzie is an outstanding professional who has worked for the city for 35 years. He said he regrets that she faced unprofessional conduct but he believes that the jury’s verdict was based on evidence and was fair. Her Facebook posts and comments she made to her colleagues had revealed that she was not traumatized after the incident.

So McKenzie just wanted to make a quick buck and Filner is unprofessional and cannot control himself - well the latter aspects may never be known.
