An officer that worked in the detention
center in Onslow County has tragically passed away in a road accident. The officer
has been identified as Cynthia Cannon. In her remembrance, the county sheriff’s
office in Onslow County has their flag at half mast, as reported by wnct.com.
The news of her death was officially
confirmed by Sheriff Hans Miller who declared that the death was a result of a
motorcycle accident.
As per accident investigators, 54 year
old Cynthia Cannon was riding her motorcycle on Sand Ridge Road in Hubert,
which is just 16 miles from Jacksonville, when a truck in front of her turned
left and came into her path. Cannon was unable to brake and stop in time and
ploughed into the side of the truck at a substantial speed.
The truck driver has been identified as

Prosecutors seem to think she was negligent in not signaling and checking if
the path was clear before she actually executed the left turn. Jacksonville, NC
accident lawyers know that a misdemeanor death by vehicle is a Class A1
misdemeanor that attracts a prison term of up to 60 days in prison in addition
to fines.

Truck Flips onto Side after Driver Runs
Stop Light
A truck driver has been left injured as
a result of flipping the truck he was driving onto its side after running a red
light near Dixon High School in Holly Ridge, just 21 miles from Jacksonville.
The driver also faces charges of reckless driving and failure to yield to a
stop light, according to jdnews.com.
The driver that caused the accident has
been identified as 59 year old Susan Edwards from Richlands. She was traveling
in a northerly direction on US highway 17 and jumped the red light at an
intersection as per witnesses.
Edwards was piloting a 2008 Ford 250
pickup truck say law enforcement officers that responded to the crash. Her Ford
pickup truck slammed into another car that was executing a turn at the
intersection.
The other driver in the case has been
identified as 25 year old Eli Aranita from Hampstead. He is said to have been
driving a Volkswagen Passat.
Aranita refused medical attention but is
deemed to have been medically stable and may have only been afflicted with
minor injuries. On the other hand, the reckless Edwards was transported to
Onslow Memorial Hospital. Her medical condition is not fully known yet.
Jacksonville, NC accident attorneys are of the opinion that depending on the
circumstances of the case, the at fault driver may be liable to pay
compensation for damages following the accident.
Edwards is in trouble. Some people believe
her life will be different from now on. Her car insurance will certainly
increase because her insurance company is going to have to pay out a lot of
money to Aranita.
