Streator resident, 27 year old Stephanie
Figueroa, was slapped with a charge of reckless homicide when she crashed her Volkswagen
Jetta into a house located on North Farnsworth Avenue killing her passenger 33
year old Obed Cruz Hernandez. The impact caused the passenger to be ejected
from the vehicle killing him instantly.
It was reported later that she even
tried to flee from the scene but was caught by the officers who witnessed the
accident. Initially Aurora police only ticketed her on two misdemeanor
