A 27 year old man from Pompano Beach has
been slapped with charges by state prosecutors for allegedly causing a car
accident that claimed the life of a woman and left her teenage son injured and
requiring leg amputation. As reported by sun-sentinel.com, the car accident that
occurred in March resulted in the death of 55 year old Deborah Etienne.

The suspect in the crash has been
identified as Joel Ross Hamlar who was supposedly driving back home from a
three day party weekend in South Beach when he struck Deborah Etienne and her
teenage son Jameson Etienne who were walking on the sidewalk in the proximity
of the Holy Cross Healthplex, according to police. The auto accident is said to
have occurred near Northeast 56th Street and North Dixie Highway.
Investigators who searched Hamlar's car
post the crash found a bag of marijuana, a bud grinder, a bag of crystal meth

29 charges that include DUI
manslaughter, reckless driving, and drug possession. It has also
come to light that Hamlar was planning to actually catch a flight to Michigan
from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International in order to evade the legal

confessed to authorities that he was exhausted from a three day party weekend
