Dr. Hai-LKung Dai, the recently
dismissed provost of Temple University has denied allegations of sexual harassment
made by an employee. As reported by CBS, the university relieved Dai of his
administrative responsibilities after the controversial discovery of a
multimillion dollar deficit in the university’s 2016-2017 merit scholarship
funding budget.
However, the school has so far not
confirmed that the $22 million deficit was precisely the reason for the
provost’s dismissal.
In a statement released by his

Attorney Released Two Statements

provost released two statements through his attorney. In the release, Dai
claimed that the accusations of sexual misconduct was alleged to have occurred
6 years ago and was of a verbal nature.
He also claimed that the accuser did not
complain of misconduct until well after she was disciplined in consultation
with Temple University’s human resources and legal team. Incidentally, he also
pointed out that the claims of sexual harassment came only recently after he
was asked to step down by President Neil D. Theobald.

Kane’s office will pay $150,000 to the
