Douglas County Deputy Accused of Drunken Driving and Causing an Accident

A law enforcement officer has come under the scanner for suspected drunk driving after he crashed his patrol car, as reported by kspr.com. Driving under the influence is never a good decision for anybody, but when you are a law enforcement officer it is an absolutely terrible decision.

Police officers are supposed to set a positive example for society to follow.

The officer has been identified as Jesse Lafferty. Supposedly, Lafferty requested to work overtime on one particular night and told Sheriff Chris Degase that he was working on an investigation. In reality, he was not working at all; he was not even in his uniform. He must have watched the movie Superbad too many times and believed that you can be an irresponsible police officer and get away with it!

The Sherriff eventually found out what Lafferty was up to and had no option but to call up the Missouri Highway Patrol to initiate a probe. Sherriff Degase spoke to media personnel and expressed his disapproval of what had transpired. He said that he was already fed up with all the negative attention the law enforcement officers and force had been getting in the recent past and this only added to their troubles.

The Sherriff, tried to reach out to Lafferty on both his phone and the radio, but was unable to get hold of him.

To strengthen the sheriff’s suspicions, Lafferty’s wife also apparently called the police station and reported that she received frantic phone calls from him and was worried.

Eventually other patrol officers were able to locate him and his car, but Lafferty did not yield to their stop signs. He continued on and ended up several yards in the woods.

Sherriff said he was positive something about the car crash seemed fishy and when they finally walked up to Lafferty they realized he was inebriated because his speech was slurred and his breath smelled of alcohol. According to Platte County, MO DUI lawyers, evidence will play a major role in the amount of punishment the officer is likely to face.

You do not have to be the best Platte County, MO DUI lawyer in the world to know that drinking and riding a motorcycle at the same time just does not make that much sense.
Businessman Luebke arrested for DWI in St. Louis, MO

Steven Luebke, a well-known businessman from the Des Moines area, has been charged with driving under the influence. He was arrested last week after St. Louis County police received a call reporting a possibly drunken driver, according to desmoinesregister.com.

Luebke was operating a motorcycle at the time of his arrest. He has now been released from custody, but faces charges of a felony DWI.

His case will be taken up by the St. Louis County Prosecutors Office and his arrest according to Missouri DUI attorneys also violates his parole in the state of Iowa.

In a previous DUI arrest, Luebke was driving a company car which he crashed into a median along interstate 235 and then left the scene of the car accident and the burning vehicle. Looks like Steven Luebke has a history of making poor decisions; it is sad to see what alcohol does to some people.
