A 3 year old girl was killed after a
tragic auto accident that occurred over the weekend. As reported by sun-sentinel.com, police reports indicate
that a family friend who was pulling out of the driveway ran over the girl and
killed her.
The vehicle involved has been described
as a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Allegedly, the auto driver was
backing into the driveway when he momentarily had to pull the vehicle forward
at which point it struck the toddler who was running alongside the truck. The
toddler has been identified as three year old Mirouche Carmilus and the driver
of the Chevy pickup truck as Puterson Despinass.
Law enforcement officers who responded
to the emergency attempted to administer CPR on the little girl, but it was too
little too late. She was transported by ambulance to Broward Health Medical
Center where she breathed her last breath.
The driver remained on the scene and is
said to be cooperating with law enforcement officers. Sparkling accident
lawyers in Fort Lauderdale, FL explain that remaining at the scene of an
accident is mandatory for all drivers involved. It is also important to call
the police right away or else they could face additional hit and run and other
charges. Apart from an accident insurance claim, the victim’s
estate may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit.
But in this case it looks like it was
the child’s fault. Mirouche Carmilus made a mortal mistake.
