In the wake of two deadly DUI accidents
that took three precious lives, the State Legislature of Maryland successfully passed
a law that entails tougher penalties for alcohol-related violations.
According to patch.com the change was initiated by the
parents of deceased Montgomery County Police officer Noah Leotta, MADD and some
others. The new law also known as Noah’s Law cleared the Senate as well as the
House as Drunk Driving Reduction Act of 2016. The law makes it mandatory for

alcohol to a minor. He was fined $2,500 which was the most lenient punishment

Deadly Cockeysville Accident Leads to
DUI Charge for 20 Year Old Man
A 20 year old man was charged with a DUI
when he was involved in a fatal crash in Cockeysville. Liam Kelleher, a
resident of Trim Ireland, was southbound on Falls Road in the vicinity of
Miller road when he collided with a vehicle head on after crossing over to the
other side of the center line. The accident resulted in the death of Sandra Lee
Rollins, who was a 60 year old lab supervisor, working at the University of
Maryland.
In a touching tribute, Diane Horney,
described her sister Rollins as a ‘dynamo’ who loved horses and windsurfing.
Kelleher, who was driving a 2006 Land Rover, was taken to shock trauma. Baltimoresun.com reports that his condition
was described by the hospital as fair.
