Bluffton Woman Faces DUI Charge after Causing Fatal Single Vehicle Accident

63 year old Peggy S. Ford of Bluffton has been charged with a DUI after she caused a fatal crash in Amherst County, VA. As reported by islandpacket.com, a 48 year old Bluffton resident, George H. Bridges, was killed in the accident.

Those words in black above would be easy to read if you were not drunk. Do not drink and drive. If you do, you may need a DUI lawyer from Manassas, VA.
He was a passenger in Ford’s vehicle at the time of the accident. According to Virginia State Police the box truck was loaded with furniture when it veered off the road and overturned on US 29. Police reports indicate that the victim was not wearing a seat belt while the driver was. Investigations into the accident are ongoing while Ford is currently being held at Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Amherst County.

In the opinion of outstanding and judicious DUI lawyers from Manassas, VA, DUI vehicular involuntary manslaughter or vehicular homicide is a serious charge that can land any driver in prison for up to 20 years or more.

Chesterfield Woman Killed in Fatal Two-Vehicle DUI Crash

A 59 year old Chesterfield County woman faces DUI charges after she caused a fatal crash involving two vehicles. The accident occurred in the 2300 block of West Hundred Road. The defendant, Donna M. Browning, was driving a Toyota 4Runner and was westbound when she crossed over into the eastbound lanes and collided head on with a Mercedes Benz ML350.

She is drinking water, she does not have to worry about needing a Manassas, VA DUI lawyer unless someone drunk hits her and then she gets to sue.
As reported by wtvr.com, the victim has been identified as 40 year old Lesley N. Anorful of Chesterfield. She was rushed to VCU Medical Center but soon succumbed to her injuries. Browning and the other occupant in the Toyota were also taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Investigations into the accident continue to determine the exact cause.

Virginia DUI attorneys know there is a possibility that the defendant could face additional charges. If convicted of vehicular manslaughter, she could potentially face a very long prison sentence. Why did she cross over into oncoming traffic?

Minivan Passenger Killed in Norfolk Accident Caused by Drunk SUV Driver

The life of 23 year old Nancy Kelly of Maryland was abruptly taken away in an accident caused by a drunk driver in Norfolk. Kelly, a medical student at Eastern Virginia Medical School, was a passenger in the front seat of a minivan that was struck by an SUV driven by Thomas Walters of Virginia Beach. As reported by 13newsnow.com, the SUV rear-ended the minivan which was stationary at a traffic stop at the intersection of East Princess Anne Road and Sewells Point Road.

The minivan in turn collided with a car. All the passengers in the minivan were rushed to hospital. However, Kelly, the front seat passenger succumbed to her injuries at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The driver and other passenger in the minivan escaped with minor injuries.

Walters was charged with a DUI. He also refused to submit to a blood test, which according to Manassas, VA DUI lawyers will lead to automatic suspension of his driving license for one year due to the state’s implied consent law which is in effect. But since Thomas Walters killed someone, he has much worse issues to contemplate. Society does not care for selfish drunk drivers that much, never has, never will.

Being convicted for drunk driving can lead to serious consequences. Therefore, if you are arrested and a DUI charge is imminent, it is prudent to speak with a Virginia DUI lawyer as soon as possible.
