25 - Year Old Woman Drowns in Underpass in Record Houston Floods

According to carscoops.com, a video recorded by a CCTV camera installed in an underpass has been recovered and shows a chilling incident of a 25 year old woman who drove her dodge into the flooded underpass at the eastbound Westpark toll way exit to Post Oak and then drowned. The victim has been identified as 25 year old Claudia Melgar who was operating a white colored Dodge Durango that plunged into a merciless 17 feet of rising water. This was at night too!

The video clearly shows Melgar turn on her cell phone flashlight to try and find an escape route from the quickly sinking SUV, but the vehicle is just too heavy and sunk to the depths within seconds taking the trapped Melgar with it.

Melgar is one of eight victims of the massive flooding so far. How she drove her car off the road, no one is really sure about that.

Another unfortunate storm-related victim according to Channel 2 was 43 year old and mother of three, Teri Rodriguez. The accident occurred at 1807 Briar Creek where the lady drover her vehicle into a drainage ditch and drowned at the scene.
