Are Florida DUI laws too lenient? Are they a joke?

Roger Perez-Borroto is no longer with us, but his survivors are questioning Florida’s DUI laws and asking why Allison Huffman, a woman with three DUI convictions, was even on public roads in the first place, as reported by wtsp.com

The people in San Fran, or the real Americans that live there, know all about this. They are asking themselves why a criminal illegal alien can be protected by the city so he can murder an innocent woman walking down the street? Borroto’s family and friends are asking themselves how can someone step on the law so many times and still have access to driver’s license?

How chaotic does it have to be before liberals turn around their own ideology?

Furthermore, it is still not known whether or not Huffman was driving drunk on Howard Frankland Bridge spanning from St. Petersburg to Tampa. However, she has confessed that she was behind the wheel when truck driver Roger Perez-Borroto was struck and killed in the crash. She needs a DUI lawyer in Tampa, Florida for sure now!

Borroto’s family and friends said in press interviews that Borroto had lost his life because the DUI laws in Florida are a joke. They agreed that Huffman should have been locked up a long time ago considering her history with driving under the influence but was negligently allowed by the state to continue driving on public roads.

Well three DUI convictions are not much. Even the states with the most severe DUI laws will only toss someone in prison with three DUI convictions for about a year. They will get out soon enough with only three DUI convictions. Those DUIs may not have been serious DUIs as well.

Some legislators are taking the initiative

The points the Borroto family have raised are all valid concerns say DUI lawyers in Tampa, Florida. However, there are some lawmakers that have already recognized these short comings and are acting to tighten up laws surrounding drunken driving in Florida. One such proactive legislator is Florida Rep. Scott Plakon (Republican) who has proposed bill HB 555.

HB 555 if passed, which there is no reason it won’t be, it will essentially make it mandatory for even the vehicles of first time drunk driving offenders to be fitted with ignition interlock devices. DUI attorneys in west central Florida also welcome this move.

An ignition interlock device will not allow the car to start until the driver blows into the inbuilt breathalyzer which reads his or her blood alcohol content and allows for the car to start up as long as the BAC% is not equal to or above the limit of 0.08% BAC.

Plakon does not want to stop at HB 555. He says he has grown sick and tired over the years watching innocent lives being claimed by someone that had one too many and got behind the wheel of a vehicle and turned it into a deadly weapon. Plakon does concede that even though he would like to see much stricter laws in Florida governing the issue of driving under the influence, his colleagues may be hesitant to pass such strict legislation right away. He is however confident that law makers will move in the right direction, slowly but surely, which Tampa, FL DUI lawyers say will definitely reduce the number of fatalities.

Woman that streamed her drunk drive home live will not be going to jail

23 year old Whitney Beall must definitely have been under the influence of alcohol to think live streaming her drunken drive home on an app called periscope was a sagacious and monumental idea. As reported by wate.com, viewers watched as the woman said aloud more than once that she was drunk. To quote Beall, “I am super drunk in the USA, and the light is red” were her exact words.

Not the smartest person around! How selfish and ignorant do you have to be to do something like this?

Beall’s lawyer was able to strike a DUI plea deal in which she has been punished with 150 hours of community service and 10 days of weekend work release.
