Two Ex-Nursing Home Staffers Accused of Elderly Abuse

Two female nurses who worked in a nursing home have been charged with elderly abuse in a case which already saw another co-defendant, Anita Watford, go to jail in 2015, according to tuscaloosanews.com. Do they think this is some sort of promotion?

Punching an elderly person in the face for any reason unless they are attacking you is obscene. It is incredible that this happened. Jail for sure should be in their future.
The allegations are that the defendants were all involved in the malicious beating and abuse of a helpless 93 year old resident. Supposedly, the two newly accused women held down the patient as a nurse’s aide punched her. The lawsuit details that the women were actually trying to force the patient to take her medication and had resorted to such archaic means to administer the medication, which is a clear case of abuse in the opinion of nursing home abuse lawyers.

The defendants are 33 year old Monica Danielle Adams and 48 year old Marilyn Annese Marshall who were employed at a nursing facility known as Glen Haven Health and Rehabilitation. Both defendants have been charged with violation of the Adult Protective Services Act. Anita Watford was first arrested in July 2015 and she has been accused of actually punching the patient in the head with her fist.

Monica Danielle Adams and Marilyn Annese Marshall – what are you two thinking?

All three women have since been terminated even though they have not yet been actually convicted of their charges. Any responsible facility ought to take this route according to medical malpractice and nursing home abuse attorneys.

Nursing home abuse lawyers probably want to know why some people even want to work at a nursing home if they are so easily prone to violence? It could be  the job shortage that is afflicting all of America because of high taxes and so on which is destroying jobs.
It is yet to be seen how Adams and Marshall will plead at their preliminary hearings, but Watford has pleaded not guilty and in her defense she testified that the patient in question actually forced her hand to hit her head. However, eye witness testimonials contradict Watford’s statement which seems absurd.

The case was investigated by Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Elder abuse case in Dayton exposes problems with nursing home abuse at large
