Football Player for Georgia Bulldogs Arrested for DUI

Jonathan Ledbetter, a defensive lineman for the Georgia Bulldogs, has been arrested for driving under the influence over the past weekend. This arrest marks the second time that Ledbetter has gotten in trouble with the law for driving under the influence in 2016, as reported by CBS. Ledbetter’s charge sheet also included underage alcohol possession in addition to the DUI charge.

Georgia Bulldog Players seem to have a Knack for getting into Legal Trouble

In a previous incident involving driving under the influence, Ledbetter was arrested and charged on the 20^th of March, but his Georgia DUI attorney was able to have those charges dropped in that case.

Ledbetter originally hails from Stone Mountain and is now a sophomore at the university. He is currently out after posting bond. Coach Kirby refrained from commenting on the arrest and the charge. However, sources say that Ledbetter will be allowed to remain on the team but will face certain disciplinary consequences – perhaps Ledbetter will be carrying the team’s equipment all season and/or contributing to some community service on campus.

Ledbetter’s arrest marks the 8^th arrest of a Georgia Bulldogs football player since coach Kirby has been in charge of the team. Previously, player Chad Clay was dismissed from the team after he was charged with weapons and damages related charges. Another player named Chauncey Rivers was also sent packing after his third marijuana related arrest.

Georgia Rep Tom Taylor Pleads Guilty as Charged to DUI

As reported by ajc.com, Rep Tom Taylor chose to plead guilty for driving under the influence and one other related charges stemming from an arrest which took place back in April 7^th. Taylor was pulled over after he was registered speeding at 72 mph in a 45 mph zone in Rabun County.

He was subjected to breathalyzer tests and standardized field sobriety tests and officers say his blood alcohol level was nearly three times over the maximum legal limit in Georgia of 0.08% BAC for adult non-commercial drivers.
