The red pickup truck then struck another car head on driven by a woman who is yet to be identified. The collision occurred on Highway 92 and both the woman and the wrong way driver were killed.
A resident who lives right by the accident site confirmed that she did not hear any screeching of brakes or the sound of skidding tires preceding the loud thud that was caused by metal colliding with metal at high speeds.

Say no and do not drive on the wrong side of the road.
Almost immediately after the collision, the red pickup truck went up in flames and the driver was trapped inside. Other motorists rushed to try and extricate the man from the wreck but were unsuccessful. Car accident investigators believe that alcohol may have been a factor in the auto accident and are still investigating how the man had changed lanes inadvertently before colliding with the other car.

The suspect in the case is 31 year old Katie Renee Pyles who ran a stop sign just before t-boning a truck travelling on Highway 54. The deceased have been identified as 51 year old Neil Fernandes and 34 year old William Johnson.

Pyles herself was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center, and was discharged from the facility the very next day and was declared to be in a stable medical condition.

Prosecutors await results of blood tests and other toxicology tests administered on the woman, which Georgia drunk driving accident attorneys say will prove vital in establishing liability and could keep her in jail for a long time.
