A franchise of Liberty Tax Service in
South Carolina is facing federal charges after it transpired that they were swindling
the Internal Revenue System (IRS) out of many millions of dollars by falsifying
tax return claims of their customers. According to a consumerist.com report, the owner of the
franchise is Christopher Paul Haynes and he will need a tax lawyer.
Haynes and his employees were supposedly
so hell bent on cheating the Internal Revenue System that even when they knew
their customers were being audited and that they themselves were under
investigation for tax fraud they still continued to swindle away. Wow, that is
like what Barney Frank did to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. After he knew these entities
were in serious trouble he kept on offering ridiculous loans to home owners
that could never afford to pay them off, among many other irrational and
irresponsible things.
Apparently, the company achieved this by
fabricating untrue, inflated tax returns by assigning their customers with
imaginary jobs based on their hobbies and creating fictional children that
simply did not exist. They should write books with an imagination like that! Liberty
Tax Service franchises are distributed throughout America and the headquarters
is in Virginia. There are as many as 4,000 of its franchises across the
country.
Christopher Paul Hayes and his team run
three such franchises across both Columbia and South Carolina. All three
officers are now under close investigation. The Internal Revenue System and the
US District Court claim that these offices run by Hayes are all regularly involved
in filing fraudulent, frivolous tax returns for their customers, which are all
very serious offenses and tax lawyers will be heavily involved in this case.
Oblivious
Customers being Tricked by South Carolina Liberty Tax Services Franchise
It may seem like their customers are in
on the scam. However, on closer inspection it was revealed by the Internal
Revenue System that the customers were also being tricked by this office. They
were asked to sign the forms declaring that they have gone through all of the
details of the claim without any explanations or time say tax lawyers.
Therefore, the customers were clueless about the fact they are technically
indulging in tax fraud.
Shockingly it recently transpired that
nearly every single claim that these offices have filed have been frivolous and
almost entirely fabricated. A staggering 99% of the filings out of a total 1,500
in between January and April 2015 are all false claims for the IRS. That is
about as fraudulent as Lois Lerner’s career.
In between 2011 and 2014, 202 federal
tax returns that were filed by these Hayes’ offices were reviewed and it turned
out that 96% of them would not add up. They were adjusted and manipulated and
sometimes totally fabricated from scratch say officials who are investigating
the case.
