A motorist from Punta Gorda was killed
in fatal car crash which occurred earlier this week in Charlotte County, as

Car Crash Involving Six Vehicles Brings I - 295 to a Halt
Interstate 295 had to be cordoned off
from the public following a major traffic auto accident involving as many as
six motor vehicles, according to firstcoastnews.com.

Highway Patrol, of the six vehicles, two were large trucks. One of the trucks
was hauling 28,000 gallons of fuel as its payload and all of this fuel had to
be pumped out before the truck could be removed from the auto accident site at
Wilson Blvd. The fuel leak had the Hazardous Materials Crew responding to the
emergency to safely treat the auto accident site and remove the debris and to
make sure the area was safe.
At least four people hurt in the auto accident
were transported to nearby local medical facilities. Investigators confirmed
that the nature of their injuries were serious, but not life threatening.
