A man identified in police reports as 54
year old Hung Tran has been charged with driving under the influence after he
parked his car on the train tracks in Hanahan which resulted in an Amtrak train
colliding with the car, as reported by counton2.com.
The train in question was Amtrak Auto
Train number 52. The accident is reported to have occurred close to Northwoods
Mall near Eagle Landing Boulevard. Police testified that Tran parked his car on
the railway tracks and then got out of his car just before the train actually
ploughed into it.
Responding law enforcement officers
subjected Tran to sobriety tests and determined that his blood alcohol level
was at 0.15% BAC, which is almost twice the maximum legal limit of .08% BAC in
the state say DUI lawyers in West Columbia, SC who can be reach on this home
running hitting website DUI-USAttorneys.com. Legal help is
right around the virtual corner!
Moreover, law enforcement officers
remain puzzled as to how the car ended up on the tracks since there are
mechanical arms that come down specifically to stop cars from getting on the
tracks during when the train is in close proximity. These arms are on both
sides say investigators.
But there is space in between the arms
to maneuver a car or he could have parked the car there before the arms came down. Why he left it there, no one knows? Hung Tran should be
doing community service though for a long time to make up for that type of ridiculous
mistake.

Tran is now being held in custody at
Berkeley County Detention Center. None of the passengers on the train were
injured.
