A street accident involving a motorcycle
and a tractor trailer in Westmoreland County has led to the death of the
motorcyclist, as reported by post-gazette.com. The Westmoreland County
Coroner has identified the deceased victim as 23 year old Anthony J. Reefer who
was a resident of Plumcreek in Armstrong County.
Reefer was riding a 2011 Kawasaki Ninja
and ploughed into the rear of a tractor trailer at the intersection between
Route 66 and Greensburg Road in Washington Township.
According to Westmoreland County
emergency officials the tragic road accident occurred in the morning at around
6:30 and they also believe that bad weather and speeding were factors in the
accident. Investigators have confirmed that they do not suspect involvement of
alcohol of drugs.
The Ninja which Reefer was riding struck
the rear of a tractor trailer just as the tractor trailer was attempting to
make a left turn onto Greensburg Road. Reefer's death has been cited as

fast and did not slow down in time.
School Bus Accident in Butler County;
Students Injured
A school bus accident which occurred in
Butler County earlier this week has resulted in 5 school students sustaining
injuries, according to a CBS report.
Thankfully, none of the five injured
sustained any serious of life threatening injuries and are all in a stable
medical condition and expected to completely recuperate within a short period
of time. The auto accident site was near Route 422 in Summit Township in close
proximity to Portman and Bonniebrook Roads.
As per eye witness statements, the bus
had just made a right turn and was travelling on Bonniebrook Road when for some
reason it began drifting into the oncoming lane of traffic before clipping the
mirror of a pickup truck and then striking the trailer that the truck was
towing. The bus then ploughed into the guardrail and finally came to a halt on
a patch of grass next to the side of the road.
School bus drivers should not get distracted. |
There were 20 students from Summit Elementary
School onboard. The five students who sustained minor injuries were transported
to Butler Memorial Hospital to be inspected medically.
The auto accident still remains under
investigation as Pittsburg auto accident lawyers and investigators try to
