According to police reports, the auto accident
occurred in the parking lot of Huddle House restaurant on N. College Street.
18-year-old Justin Deaton is said to have driven into the parking lot in a
reckless manner and struck a parked truck.
This caused the parked truck to move
forward, which in turn pinned a man between the truck and the restaurant
building. A 17 year old boy who was in front of the truck was also knocked down
and suffered minor injuries.
Deaton fled the scene of the auto accident,
which is the worst thing a driver can possibly do, say marvelous Louisville, KY
truck accident lawyers. This will only add to the quantum of punishment and
penalties. A passenger in Deaton’s car remained at the scene and cooperated
with police. He told the investigators that he pleaded with Deaton to let him
out of the car following the auto accident. He also confirmed that Deaton was
driving under the influence at the time.
The Harrodsburg Police Department
managed to arrest Deaton later. He faces several charges that include reckless
endangerment, second and fourth degree assault, criminal mischief, hit and run,
and failure to render assistance. Truck accident attorneys in Kentucky believe
that any video footage and other evidence including the passenger’s testimony
will play a vital role in establishing liability and any truck accident insurance claim or personal injury
lawsuit, if any. The victim’s condition has not been made public.
