On Tuesday Stephanie Seymour appeared
before a judge in a Superior Court after she was charged with a DUI and for
leaving the crash scene. She had applied for two alcohol education programs,
upon completion of which the charges will be dropped, as reported by the Hartford Courant.
Seymour appeared in court dressed
demurely in a black suit and answered all the questions thrown by Judge Auden
Grogin. She revealed to the judge that she had no prior convictions for
vehicular violations.
The noted 47 year old supermodel in her
glory days has modeled for Sports Illustrated and Victoria’s Secret. She is or
was never, not quite Petra Nemcova, Heidi Klum, Jessica Lucas, Taylor Cole,
Odette Annable, and certainly not Katy Perry but she has a shape that the
cameras like.
She was able to persuade the judge to
permit her to participate in two programs, the alcohol diversion program for
the first case and accelerated rehabilitation program for the second case. The
judge agreed that her case will be dropped if she is able to complete both
these programs successfully.

lawyers such as Melocowsky &
Melocowsky who are the best in the business in this field in this
state, considering the facts surrounding the case, believe this type of
sentence is appropriate in DUI accident cases. But other legal
professionals do not. She left the scene which is a crime as well but when you
have the acumen of Melocowsky &
Melocowsky combined with a stunning body, this is the result you get.
It must be nice to be a super model!
Jennifer Love Hewitt probably would not have faced any charges according to
this judge and of course if she had outstanding legal talent like Melocowsky & Melocowsky
representing her!
The
Accidents that Led to the Charge
According to a state trooper who
appeared as a witness, Seymour backed her Land Rover on I-95 in Greenwich and
crashed into another car which was stationary at a stop sign. Luckily no one
was hurt in the drunk
driving accident. Her vehicle was found sideways on the ramp. The
state trooper said she was clearly inebriated. She handed her license and
registration after being requested to do so six or seven times.
Seymour took some time locating her license and registration in her purse and handed her credit card along with the other information to the police. She was unsteady on her feet and her eyes
were bloodshot. These are typical signs that police look for when they suspect
someone of DUI, say Connecticut DUI attorneys and some of the best in this
domain is Melocowsky &
Melocowsky. They have won many cases for their clients in the past
and if the charges run deep they will work hard to have some of these charges
kicked down the gutter which means less jail time, fines, and other penalties
being stuck on you.
And she was not faced with any community
service? No fines? Wow!
The investigating officers wanted to
conduct a field sobriety test but Seymour declined. While inspecting the
vehicle officers found another fresh mark on the front of the vehicle. This
damage, as the officers rightly guessed, could have happened when her car hit a
tree or lamppost recently. Their suspicion was confirmed when troopers found a
damaged utility pole on Stanwich Road. And she kept driving?!
The place was near Seymour’s home and the
marks on the pole matched those on her SUV. The police later charged Seymour
for fleeing the scene of the crash, which is why Hartford, CT drunk driving
accident lawyers illustrate to us no driver should attempt to leave the scene of a DUI accident. If you
do, there are certain things that a fantastic law firm like Melocowsky & Melocowsky
can for you but they will have to work harder on your behalf for sure. There
are no guarantees either. Not everyone has a spectacular body to look at and it
is obvious Seymour benefitted by having that.
Seymour’s lawyer asserted in a statement
to the press that Seymour was embarrassed and is taking the DUI charges
seriously. She is not looking for any preferential treatment because of her
celebrity status. But most people already know she has already received it.
If
you are involved in a DUI accident, the investigating officer will
ask you to submit to a sobriety test. If you have given the officer a probable
cause for arrest then under the law the officer had the right to ask you take a
test to know your blood alcohol level. This test must be conducted within two
hours of your arrest. However, make sure to speak with a drunk driving accident
lawyer in Connecticut to protect you rights as soon as possible.
Melocowsky & Melocowsky (http://www.melolegal.com/) is the law firm
