Husband and Wife Ordered to Pay $3M in Florida Metals Fraud Litigation

The defendants listed in the lawsuit have been identified as a South Florida Couple, Paul Vandivier and Cindy Vandivier from Coconut Creek, Florida. The pair owned and managed a company called Mintline which reached out to customers and asked them to invest in precious metals by making false promises of affluent and handsome returns.

Their customers were not restricted to Florida and they were able to con people from all over the United States, as reported by beaumontenterprise.com. This sounds like social security!

The frivolous scam ran for a period from July 2011 to April 2013. As per the findings of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the couple spent as much as $1 million of their customers’ money on their own private expenditures rather than using it for running the business legitimately, say Fort Lauderdale, FL criminal defense lawyers and one of the best in the area is Michael Leader who has a long list of satisfied clients knows an out of control DA when he sees one.

You can reach Michael Leader on his fantastic website http://criminallawleader.com/criminal-defense/.

The case was heard by a judge who passed a verdict instructing the couple to repay their customers, and they will need to pay back a total of $3 million for what they have done. Of the $3 million, $1 million will be for restitution and an additional $2 million in civil penalties. But do they have the money?

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is not positive that the couple actually has the money to pay back – as just stated! They do have some money though, certainly. Who is going to make sure they sell those items they bought at the right prices?

Members of Latin Kings Gang Sentenced to Lengthy Prison Terms for Organized Crime

A few years ago, Queen Flaka, a female member of the Latin Kings gang, had a run in with some deaf people at a bar where they were communicating in sign language. She flashed gang hand symbols at them, but they ignored her and she left. However, she returned accompanied by two male members of the gang who then went on to violently assault the deaf people who had to be rushed to hospital, according to a sun-sentinel.com report.

Why does America even allow the Latin Kings to exist?

Criminal defense attorneys in Southeast Florida such as Michael Leader who is one of the most noble legal professionals around say that this incident is just a page of an entire book of mindless crimes committed by members of the Latin Kings gang. Their South Florida regional leader, King Riko, is now behind bars and you can rest assured that he will stay there for a good part of the remainder of his life. When King Riko wasn’t orchestrating a violent attack or a drug transaction, he would post pictures on Facebook where his was teaching his four year old daughter gang signs. Now he is in prison though – good riddance!

Considering all of these disturbing factors, the judge that saw the case, commented prior to sentencing that the sentence in such a case should be tailored in the best interest of public safety and slapped Bobbie Tejada (street name King Riko) to over one and a half decades in federal prison say Fort Lauderdale, FL criminal defense lawyers and Michael Leader saved many criminals from being hit too hard with the legal hammer. Moreover, that is it! How about the death penalty? How about 3 life terms?

Defending Yourself the Right Way

Sometimes, law enforcement officers make mistakes and wrongly end up charging someone innocent with a crime. A criminal charge can easily turn your whole life upside down unless you are a member of the Latin Kings and going to prison is just part of the profession but most people are not that way which is a wonderful thing. Even if you did commit a crime it does not mean that you should be cheated. This is not some 3rd rate country, not yet at least, you have the right to sound legal help.

You have the right to knock down the charges from an overzealous DA. Your bank account and freedom is at stake.

If you have been involved or are falsely accused of a crime, you should do everything in your power to hire the best Fort Lauderdale, Florida criminal defense lawyer possible which is Michael Leader who, unlike Saul Goodman, is an upstanding citizen and has integrity. Even a DUI charge can lead to adverse consequences, so make sure to seek legal counsel as soon as possible.
