Ex-Workers Lawsuit Brings Packing Firm Under the Scanner

A company known as Greater Omaha Packing Co. is being looked at closely after a former employee filed a lawsuit against them through his workers compensation lawyer. The company has reacted to the lawsuit claiming that the lawsuit is a frivolous scam intended to make a quick buck.

A spokesperson for the company said that the allegations in the workers comp lawsuit are ironically contradictory to how the company actually operates and treats their thousand plus employee’s on a day in day out basis, as reported by Omaha.com.

Meat Packing and Processing Company has Plenty of Things to Say

The plaintiff in the case has been identified as Fredrick Baglio. He is a former boiler room worker and his workers compensation lawyer filed the lawsuit on his behalf in the US District Court of Omaha. The lawsuit basically disputes that the company failed to pay Baglio as per his actual working hours. Even though Baglio did not take lunch breaks, his record shows him clocked out as though he did. Furthermore, it seeks to recover two and a half weeks of pay which Baglio claims the company never paid him for.

The company spokesperson spoke with media personnel and questioned why Baglio, who worked for the company for as long as six years, never had any complaints prior to this? If his allegations were true and he was being unfairly treated and paid throughout his tenure in the company, then how come he is only speaking up against such treatment after all these years?

Workers compensation attorneys have criticized the way in which the company has handled the complaint so far. Be it frivolous or not, a company of that stature should refrain from making so many unsolicited public remarks about the case they say. Such remarks will only help the complainant and his legal counsel prepare better during trial and actually come up with convincing, well thought out answers to the same questions during the questioning in the trial.

Investigation in Workers Compensation Insurance Fraud Ring Case Expands

A case which workers compensation lawyers have described as one of the biggest workers compensation cases in the history of the country has now widened to include even more medical professionals all across Southern California, as reported by The San Diego Union Tribune.

The case is premised around allegations that these medical professionals basically bought and sold patients to each other like they were some sort of commodities. This is like Planned Parenthood selling baby body organs!

The initial probe discovered nearly half a million dollars in kickback payments which amounts to millions and millions of dollars in fraudulent workers’ compensation insurance claims say workers compensation lawyers.

The new allegations in the case include 13 more indictments being added to the charge sheet and also the inclusion of some chiropractors, a medical equipment distributor, a pain management professional, and even a radiologist. This is just another day in financially and morally bankrupt California.
