Chest X-ray Requested by Criminal Defense Lawyers in 30 Year Old Murder Case

A murder trial which continues 34 years after the actual murder itself took place has now reached a point where it looks like some progress is finally being made. According to expert criminal defense lawyers, the case has now closed in on a prime suspect, Mr. Billy Hawk.

This is just like the show The Wire, when Bunk Moreland told Omar “murder stays murder.” There is not any statute of limitations for the worst crime of all and there should not be. But in this case, someone is looking to get off.

In order to conclusively prove their case, lawyers involved in the case now seek forensic proof in the form of a chest x-ray to disprove the allegations against Hawk and prove his innocence, as reported by chattanoogan.com.

The discovery plea was filed earlier this week by the defendant/suspect’s lawyers who basically request that they be allowed access to this evidence in order to support their claims. Apart from the chest x-ray, Hawks’ criminal defense lawyer also seeks to be handed over the barrel in which the dead body of the victim in the case was eventually found. He says that this too is evidence in the case supporting his client’s pleas of innocence.

You may not have anything in common with other criminals but everyone has something in common when they are charged with a crime that is more severe than a speeding infraction – everyone in this situation needs a criminal defense lawyer. The Murder of Johnny Mack Slayer – Still an Unsolved Mystery

The defendant is now 61 years old and was taken into custody only on September 2015 after a prosecution team representing the District Attorney’s Office’s Cold Case Unit reopened a murder case which itself had died. The case revolved around the murder of Johnny Mack Slayer nearly three and a half decades ago.

It was back in 1981 when Slayer’s body was found stuffed into a steel barrel that was discovered floating around in the Tennessee River. Both Slayer and Hawk were at the time involved in the drug trade (that still continues as America wastes billions of dollars on this hopeless cause – the biggest drug dealers according to some people are Coors and Budweiser but that is another topic) and were being investigated for an alleged cocaine distribution lawsuit and crimes.

According to the defendant’s criminal defense attorney, the prosecution claimed that there was a bullet wound in the victim’s chest, but the initial forensic and post mortem reports do not mention a bullet hole at all and hence the legal counselor has demanded for the chest x-ray as proof. It so happens that among the innumerable x-rays that exist pertaining to Johnny Mack Slayer’s body, the chest x-ray is the one that seems to have been misplaced as authorities are unable to find it.

To make things even fishier, even the steel barrel in which Slayer’s body was found is supposedly missing. Hawk too continues to claim that he is innocent.

Do you smell a cover up?
